I was pleased to be a part of a special programme 'Swastha Mantra' hosted by NDTV India, to discuss various challenges that have arisen due to COVID-19. Several renowned public figures from our country were also a part of this programme.
During my address via skype, I talked about the several challenges faced by Sikkim, especially in the tourism sector as a large part of our population is dependent on it. Likewise, our Government has decided to lift the restrictions and allow free movement of people to and fro from the State and will permit tourist visits from 10th October onwards.
We are all familiar with the safety guidelines issued against COVID-19 and at this time the onus falls on us to be responsible citizens and follow them religiously for the safety of the entire population. Collectively, we will slowly but surely rise above this situation
