District Administration Gyalshing Observes 80th Independence Day With Much Patriotic Fervour and National Spirit
Gyalshing, August 15 (IPR): The District-Level 80th Independence Day Celebration was observed with much patriotic fervour and due reverence at the premises of the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Gyalshing, today.
The District Administration, Gyalshing, joined the nationwide observance of the 80th Independence Day and paid tribute to the freedom fighters, remembering their sacrifices for the country’s independence.
The district-level celebration commenced at the DAC, Gyalshing, with the rendition of Vande Mataram. The National Flag was unfurled by the District Collector, Gyalshing, Mr Tenzing D. Denzongpa, followed by the collective singing of the National Anthem.
The contingents of Sikkim Police, Gyalshing, and 2nd Indian Reserve Battalion presented the Guard of Honour to the District Collector, Gyalshing, and the Senior Superintendent of Police, Gyalshing, Ms Paru Ruchal.
The programme was attended by the Additional District Collector Gyalshing, Additional Superintendent of Police Gyalshing, Additional District Collector (Development) RDD Gyalshing, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (HQ), Gyalshing, Heads of Departments, officers and officials of line departments under the District Administrative Centre.
The occasion marked the day with a shared sense of national pride and respect, bringing together the line departments of the district administration in observance of Independence Day.
It may be informed that the district-level celebration is being conducted in two sessions this year. The first session was held at the DAC, Gyalshing, while the second session, comprising day-long programmes, is scheduled to be held at Kyongsa Ground later in the day.
