DC Namchi chairs coordination meeting on Dharti Aaaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JUGA)

A meeting on Dharti Aaaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan ( DA-JUGA), a national initiative focused on the socio-economic welfare of the tribal communities was convened at the District Administrative Centre, today.
The meeting was chaired by DC Namchi Ms Anupa Tamling and attended by SDM (HQ) Mr Nim Pintso Bhutia, ADC (Dev)Namchi/ Ravangla, Dr CP Rai, Mr Sunil Mothey and BDO Namchi Mr Upendra Rai.
Launched by the Government of India under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, DA-JUGA aims to uplift tribal communities across states through integrated and sustainable development programmes, thereby enhancing their socio-economic conditions.
In her address, DC highlighted the importance of the scheme’s phased and structural implementation across the district. She emphasized the need to develop interventions to meet the need of the tribal population and expressed confidence that DA-JUGA initiative will significantly contribute to inclusive and widespread development in the region.
DC also, stressed the importance of Inter-departmental coordination to ensure seamless execution of the initiative, urging all departments to work with full understanding and coordination for maximum impact.
DA-JUGA in Sikkim marks a strong step towards the holistic development of tribal communities, reinforcing the state’s commitment to inclusive growth and equitable progress.
Also, present during the meeting were CEO Education Mr Sushil Rai, CMO Namchi Dr SN Adhikari, Welfare Officer Namchi Mr Sonam Dadul Bhutia, Additional Director Agriculture Ms Nirmala Motkan, Additional Director Animal Husbandry Dr Latta Rai and other representatives from concerned departments.
