Gangtok, July 09: (IPR) As per latest Health Bulletin issued by DG-cum-Secretary, Health, Dr. Pempa T. Bhutia, one positve case of Covid-19 has been reported in the State.
The person who has tested positive is a 25 year old male who had travelled to the State from Bihar on the 29th of June. He along with three others had travelled together from Bihar and after screening at Rangpo, had been lodged in a paid facility quarantine Centre in Gangtok. The positive patient has been admitted in the Isolation ward of STNM Hospital, while the three primary contacts have been contained in the same quarantine centre.

With this, the total tally of Covid-19 in the State has reached 134. With one more person discharged today, the total active cases remains 49.

In his Bulletin, the DG-cum-Secretary also clarified that all Sikkimese citizens including Residential Certificate holders and those with Voter ID Card will not be charged for Covid-19 tests. Charges will only be applicable for non-Sikkimese who do not possess Sikkim Subject/COI/RC/Voter ID Card.

Dr. Bhutia also informed that the Government has decided to start Antigent testing at the earliest for army and paramilitary forces at Rangpo screening centre. He informed that the Antigent testing will be done free of cost for the first fifteen days. However, TrueNat and RTPCR tests will be charged.
He informed that the arrangements for Antigent testing is almost complete and is being closely monitored by senior officers of the Health Department. The Laboratory technicians will be given a final round of training tomorrow, he informed
