Honourable Governor Shri Om Prakash Mathur attended the 'Pangtoe Cham' dance festival organised at Chuklakhang Palace on the auspicious occasion of Panglhabasol.  
Honourable Governor Shri Om Prakash Mathur arrived at Chuklakhang Palace today to participate in the traditional 'Pangtoe Cham' festival on the occasion of Panglhabasol. On this occasion, the Honourable Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang, was present in a dignified manner.  
The Honourable Governor was welcomed by the Honourable Chief Minister, Rajkumar Gyalshe Palden Gyurmed Namgyal, and the Honourable Minister of the Religious Affairs Department, Shri Sonam Lama. During this event, legislators, members of the former royal family, senior officials of the state government, and officials of the Chuklakhang Trust were also present.  
The Honourable Governor observed the traditional 'Pangtoe Cham' organised in the palace complex. During the festival, he prayed to the guardian deities of Sikkim—Mahakal Gonpo and Jonga Takse for the well-being, peace, prosperity, and mutual harmony of the people of the state.
The Pang Laobasol festival is also a symbol of honouring Mount Kanchanjanga as the protector deity of Sikkim and further strengthening the cultural unity of the state. The 'Pangtoe Cham' dance is the main attraction of this festival, which symbolises the victory of good over evil and security.  
The Honorable Governor has appreciated the efforts of the Chulakhanga Trust to preserve this rich cultural heritage.
