Pathbreaking Healthcare Initiative: Specialized Medical Team from R.N. Tagore Hospital Arrives in Gangtok Ahead of Landmark Kidney Transplant
14/08/26: Building upon our recent review meetings and ongoing preparations, we are proud to announce the arrival of the specialized medical team from R.N. Tagore Hospital, Kolkata, led by Dr. T.A. Jahangir, in Gangtok today.
Upon their arrival, a review meeting was successfully conducted in the esteemed presence of Shri Tshewang Gyachho, IAS, Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, alongside the Principal Director, Medical Superintendent, Additional Medical Superintendents, operating team, specialist doctors, nurses and paramedics, as well as other departmental officers and staff. This meeting ensured the complete alignment of all operational, clinical and logistical protocols between the visiting specialists and our local medical teams.
With all preparations fully in place, arrangements are strictly on track for tomorrow’s landmark procedure, scheduled for August 15, 2026, marking a significant step forward in advancing specialised healthcare services within our state
