Under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, the District Level Nasha Mukt Bharat Conclave Competition 2026 was successfully organised by MY Bharat, Soreng District, at Government Senior Secondary School, Chakung, on 2nd August 2026. The programme aimed to inspire youth to adopt a healthy, drug-free lifestyle and contribute towards the vision of Viksit Bharat.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest, Ms. Mamita Gurung, Deputy Director, Sports & Youth Affairs Department, Soreng District, along with other distinguished guests. A warm welcome address was delivered by Ms. Tula Maya Subba, followed by the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Pledge, which was administered to all participants, reaffirming their collective commitment to building a drug-free society.
In her address, Chief Guest Ms. Mamita Gurung highlighted the role of Yuva Shakti in nation-building and urged young people to stay away from drugs by embracing sports, fitness, yoga, dance, music, and other creative pursuits. She encouraged the youth to become ambassadors of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and contribute towards a healthy and progressive Viksit Bharat.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth across Soreng District in eight competition categories, showcasing their creativity, awareness, and commitment to a drug-free society.
District Youth Officer Mr. Pradeep Baisla also addressed the gathering, emphasising the importance of adopting a drug-free lifestyle and motivating young people to become agents of positive social change.
The programme concluded with a prize distribution and felicitation ceremony, where Chief Guest Ms. Mamita Gurung and District Youth Officer Mr. Pradeep Baisla presented certificates and awards to the winners and participants.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mr. Anup Chettri, Volunteer, MY Bharat Soreng, who expressed sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, judges, teachers, volunteers, participants, and all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme. The event concluded with a renewed pledge to build a Nasha Mukt Yuva for a Viksit Bharat.
