Six Young Boxers from Sikkim to Compete at the 9th Elite Men’s & Women’s Boxing Championship
The Sikkim Amateur Boxing Association is proud to announce that six promising boxers from Sikkim, including three men and four women, will represent the state at the 9th Elite Men’s & Women’s Boxing Championship, scheduled to be held from 4th January 2026 to 10th January 2026 at Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
The selected boxers and their respective weight categories are as follows:
Women Boxers:
1. Yasika Rai – 45–48 kg
2. Prava Gajmer – 48–51 kg
3. Ritika Kri Gupta – 51–54 kg
4. Pema Ongmu Bhutia – 70–75 kg
Men's Boxers:
5. Pravin Chettri – 60–65 kg
6. Jayant Dagar – 65–70 kg
The team will be led by the Chief Coach of the State, Ms. Sandhya Gurung, a Dronacharya Awardee, whose guidance and experience continue to inspire and shape the future of boxing in Sikkim. The contingent will also include Official Mr. Pritam Shilal and Team Manager Mr. Karan Chettri, who will accompany and support the athletes throughout the championship.
This prestigious national-level championship, organized under the aegis of the Boxing Federation of India, will see participation from elite boxers across the states. The selection of these athletes reflects their hard work, discipline, and consistent performances at various levels of competition.
The Sikkim Amateur Boxing Association extends its heartfelt best wishes to all the boxers and officials and expresses confidence that the team will perform with determination, sportsmanship, and pride, bringing honour to the state.
