High Court of Sikkim Celebrates 80th Independence Day
Gangtok, August 15 (IPR): The High Court of Sikkim observed the 80th Independence Day today at the High Court of Sikkim with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.
Judge, High Court of Sikkim, Justice Mr Bhaskar Raj Pradhan, hoisted the National Flag, following which he received the Guard of Honour from the Sikkim Armed Police. The ceremony also featured a soulful rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’, followed by the National Anthem.
The Independence Day celebrations continued with a vibrant cultural programme held at the Auditorium of the High Court of Sikkim.
The programme featured an array of cultural performances, including dances and songs presented by students and members of DIET (District Institute of Education and Training) College, Sikkim Judicial Academy, Bojoghari Children Welfare Association, Bar Association of Sikkim (High Court & Subordinate Courts), Sikkim High Court Bar Association and the High Court of Sikkim.
Thereafter, Judge, High Court of Sikkim, Justice Mr Bhaskar Raj Pradhan, and other dignitaries presented mementos to the participants as a token of appreciation for their performances and contributions to the celebration.
The programme was attended by distinguished guests, including Ms Bindu Mati Pradhan, Ms Manasa Priyadarshini, Mr Aarav Raj Pradhan, Mr Roger Randeep Rai, Senior Advocates, Deputy Solicitor General of India, Judicial Officers, Additional Advocate General, President and Executive Members of the Bar Association of Sikkim (High Court & Subordinate Courts) and Sikkim High Court Bar Association, officers and staff of the District Court, Sikkim Judicial Academy and Sikkim State Legal Services Authority, and officers, staff and medical unit of the Registry of the High Court of Sikkim.
The welcome address and vote of thanks were proposed by Ms Panita Lama, Assistant Registrar (IT), High Court of Sikkim.
