DEO Mangan Holds Fifth Weekly Meeting on SIR with Representatives of Political Parties

Mangan, August 17 (IPR): The District Election Officer (DEO)-cum-District Collector, Mangan, Mr Anant Jain, chaired the fifth weekly meeting with representatives of recognised political parties regarding the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls 2026 at his office today.
The meeting was attended by Joint Secretary, Election, Mangan District, Mr Karma Sherpa, along with representatives of the Citizen Action Party (CAP) and Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM).
During the meeting, the DEO reviewed the progress of the ongoing SIR exercise in the district and held detailed discussions with political party representatives on the revision process. The meeting also provided an opportunity for the representatives to raise queries, seek clarifications and share suggestions concerning the conduct of the SIR.
Mr Jain emphasised the importance of ensuring that the revision process is carried out in a transparent, systematic and inclusive manner, with active coordination among election officials, political parties and other stakeholders. He reiterated that all eligible citizens should be facilitated in exercising their right to participate in the electoral process, while ensuring that the electoral rolls remain accurate and updated.
The meeting also served as a platform to strengthen coordination between the District Election Office and political parties, ensuring the smooth and effective implementation of the SIR in Mangan District.
The meeting concluded with the assurance that all observations and issues raised by the political party representatives would be examined in accordance with the prescribed rules and procedures.
