DC Namchi Reviews Functioning of District De-Addiction Centre at Kitchudumra
Namchi, August 25 (IPR): District Collector, Namchi, Ms Anupa Tamling, conducted a routine visit to the District De-Addiction Centre (DDAC) at Kitchudumra on August 25, 2026, to review its functioning, facilities and overall management.
During the visit, the District Collector held a meeting with the Centre In-charge and representatives of Revive Heaven Foundation, the NGO entrusted with the management of the DDAC. The Centre In-charge briefed the DC on the admission procedures and the overall functioning and management of the facility.
The DC directed the NGO to ensure that all admissions under the charity category are made only with prior permission from the District Administration, and that the prescribed procedure is followed uniformly for all eligible beneficiaries. The Centre currently has an intake capacity of 60 inmates, including five females, with the remaining inmates being male.
The District Collector also enquired about the availability and deployment of staff at the Centre, particularly from the Medical and Social Welfare Departments, and stressed the need for adequate staffing to ensure effective care and rehabilitation services.
She further inspected the DDAC premises and appreciated the cleanliness, upkeep and maintenance of the Centre by the NGO.
Simultaneously, a joint survey was conducted to ascertain the exact extent and status of the land under the Social Welfare Department, as directed by the District Collector. The survey was carried out by officials from the concerned departments, including the Land Revenue team.
The visit was attended by Addl. Director SWD, SDM (HQ) Namchi, Joint Director SSWD, Welfare Officer Namchi, Senior A O, SWD, AE/JE and officials from the Land Revenue Department.
