EMPLOYMENT NOTICE

          Application are invited from eligible male candidate along with two passport size photographs in the prescribed proforma, to fill up 270 posts (135 Home Guards & 135 Open) of Constables in newly sanctioned 2nd India Reserve Battalion in the pay scale of Rs. 3200 – 80 – 4800 plus other admissible allowances under the rules.

2.       ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:-

  1. Age: -          Not less than 18 years and not more than 22 years as on  01/11/2008

      Upper age limit relaxation as under: -

  1. Five years in case of SC/ST(open)
  2. Three years in case of MBC/OBC(open)
  3. 32 years in case of SC/ST for Home Guard candidates
  4. 31 years in case of MBC for Home Guard candidates
  5. 30 years in case of OBC for Home Guard Candidates

  (ii)  Home Guard Candidates.

  1. Should have served as Home Guards for a minimum period of three years.
  2. Should be in possession of an enrolment or discharge certificate duly certified by the Deputy Commandant, Home Guards at the time of submitting application.

c)     Should not have been charged for offence (s) and punishment listed under 15 (2) of the Sikkim Home Guards Rules, 1993. 
(iii) Ex Servicemen Candidates
Ex Servicemen shall be allowed to deduct the period of service rendered in Armed Forces from his actual age subject to following conditions: .   

  1. The maximum service (continuous) rendered in Armed Forces of the Union of India by the Ex Servicemen is not less than six months.
  2. The Ex Servicemen is not discharged or dismissed from the service on account of misconduct and in efficiency

(iv)

  1. Height: -                         5’3” minimum
  2. Chest: -                          32” min with the minimum expansion of 2”
  3. Weight: -                        Minimum 50 kgs.
  4. Educational Qualification: -     Class X pass for open candidates and Class VIII   Pass for Home Guard from any recognized board.

3.       Only candidates meeting above eligibility and possessing the following documents may apply for the above posts:      

  1. Sikkim Subject/Certificate of Identification
  2. Valid local employment card.
  3. ST/SC/MBC/OBC Certificates.
  4. Education qualification certificate with mark sheet
  5. Birth certificate
  6. NOC from Head of Department in case of Govt. servant

NB: Incomplete applications shall be rejected summarily.

4.       Selection process shall include the following:-

  1. Documentation
  2. Physical measurement
  3. Physical efficiency tests
    1. Short Put      min distance                  16 ft.
    2. High Jump    min height                      3’6”
    3. Long Jump    min distance                 12 ft
    4. 100 mtrs       max qualifying time       15 sec
    5. 1500 mtrs     max qualifying time       8 minutes
  4. Written Test
  5. Viva-Voce.
  6. Medical test.

5.       Physical efficiency test shall be held at the following places: -

Candidates should bring their original documents to the venue of Physical Efficiency test.

6.       Candidates who qualify for the Physical efficiency test shall be called for the written test. Venue and date for written test shall be intimated to the qualified candidates at the time of Physical Efficiency Test.

7.       Only candidates who qualify in written test shall be called for viva-voce. Names of the candidates who qualify for viva-voce shall be displayed on notice boards at PHQ, Gangtok, District SsP offices and District Administrative Centers.

8.       Application along with attested copies of testimonials, should reach to the office of the undersigned and District SsP offices (South, West & North) on or before 4.00 PM of 22nd November,  2008.
         
9.       Selected Candidates are liable to serve in any part of India
NB:

  1. No separate calling letters shall be issued and no TA/DA shall be paid for attending any phase of recruitment..
  2. Candidates indulging in canvassing/influencing the Recruitment Committee shall be disqualified.
