Department of Information Technology, Government of Sikkim is sending 7 nos. S.T. and 3 nos. S.C candidates at Kolkata for 2 months professional computer training in Multimedia.  All expenditure will be borne by the Department.

Candidates should be Class XII passed and above with basic knowledge of computer (minimum 6 months course).

Interested candidates can come with the qualification certificates, COI and two passport size photos and collect the application form from Information Technology Department on or before 22nd Feb. 2008.  Filled up Forms are required to be submitted on 23rd Feb. 2008.

TRAINING OPPORTUNITY

Applications are invited from local candidates for undergoing Post Graduate training in “Diploma in Health Education” in any recognized University/Institute within India to be notified by the department at the time of admission of candidates.

The training will be awarded to the candidates belonging to following category:-

2.      Minimum educational qualification:-  Degree from recognized University;

3.      Age limit:- 18-30 years as on 31.1.2008 with usual relaxation to SC/ST and MBC/OBC candidates as per rules inforce;

4.      Must be able to converse in one of the four languages viz: Sikkemese Bhutia, Lepcha, Limboo or Nepali;

5.      Candidates must have knowledge of culture and tradition of Sikkim;

6.      Question papers will be set in English language;

 

The Selection will be made through Open Competitive Examination. Syllabus for the written examination are as follows: -

 

General English                          =              75 Marks

General Knowledge                     =              25 Marks

 

I.        General English:-

a)      Comprehension (answering question from unseen passages)              (10 marks)

b)      Essay 200 words “Life related issues/Health Care /

          everyday concerns and hobbies”                                                 ( 15 marks)

c)      Language Use (Grammar):-                                                          ( 50 marks)

          i)              Editing passages, sentence completion, error recognition.

          ii)             Sentence and words order.

          iii)            Writing messages or notice or report.

          iv)            Sentence making.

 

II.       General Knowledge:-

          i)              Global awareness           =              (7 marks)

          ii)             National awareness         =              (8 marks)             

          iii)            Awareness about Sikkim   =              (10 marks)

Duration of the written examination will  be 3 (Three) hours and question paper will be  set in English  language.

The candidate who secures a minimum of 40% marks in the written examination or as per the norms prescribed by the Committee will be called for the viva-voce test.

Date and venue of the written examination will be notified and intimated in due course.

The terms and conditions of selection of candidates for undergoing aforesaid training are as follows:-

(i)      Only nine candidates as per reservation shown above will be deputed for training for the year 2008-09. The name of the Institute will be notified to the selected candidates on completion of all formalities of selection;

(ii)     During the period of training, stipend of Rs. 500/- per month will be paid to the candidates and all other expenditures viz; Admission fee, Hostel Charges, Mess Charges, Books and Stationery etc will have to borne by themselves. If any candidates detains or leave the training in the middle of the session, he/she shall be liable to pay twice the amount spent on him/her as stipend;

(iii)    On successful completion of training, the department will appoint them in the prescribed pay scale of Health Educator/Extension Educator i.e. Rs. 5000-150-8000 plus other allowances as are admissible under the Rules. They shall be on probation for a period of Two years and their service will be counted from the date of joining the department on completion of training after announcement of result by the University. Their inter-se-seniority in the post will be maintained as per their performance in the written examination/viva-voce as the case may be to be declared by the Departmental Promotion Committee at the time of initial selection of candidates for training;

(iv)    The candidates who fails in the final examination of the Diploma Course will not be appointed as per the terms and conditions stipulated at SI.No. 3 above and he/she has to leave the training and for which the department should not be held responsible for such lapses;

(v)     The candidates should follow the norms and procedures of the University and hostel. Their      academic performance and character during the entire period of training should be excellent;

(vi)    The trainee /candidate shall not take part in any political or other activities, which may be           considered by the government to be undesirable and against the government. If he/she takes part in any such activities, stipend shall be withheld and he/she shall not be allowed to complete the training/course

(vii)   The candidates has to sign an Agreement Bond duly accepting the terms and conditions stipulated hereinabove in presence of their parents in the Health Secretariat.

Incomplete application form shall be summarily rejected.

1.      Class X pass Mark sheet and Certificate containing date of birth;

2.      Mark sheet and Certificate of all educational and professional qualification from Class X onwards;

3.      Valid Local Employment Card in case of unemployed candidate;

4.      Sikkim Subject Certificate/Certificate of Identification as the case may be;

5.      SC/ST/MBC and OBC Certificate as the case may be;

6.      No objection certificate from the Secretary/Heads of Department in case of in-service candidate;

7.      Husband’s Sikkim Subject Certificate/Certificate of Identification in case of married woman;

8.      Unmarried Certificate issued by SDM/BDO in case of unmarried woman.

 

Candidate seeking admission for the examination should obtain the prescribed form from the office of the undersigned on production of Bank Receipt for Rs. 50/- (Rupees Fifty) only credited under head   0210-0R (cost of application form). Application forms shall be available at any working day from 11.00 am to 3.00 p.m. from 25.2.3008 to 7.3.2008.

 

Application form complete in all respect along with attested photocopies of the following documents must reach the office of undersigned on or before 10.03.2008. The candidates are also advised to enclose a self-addressed envelope duly affixing the postage stamp along with the application form.

 

No TA/DA is admissible for attending the written examination and interview.

ITI TRAINING IS FREE OF COST.  However, the candidates will have to pay Admission fee- Rs. 50/- Examination fees- 25/-, caution money - Rs 100/-.  A limited Hostel facility is available which will be allotted on first come first served basis.

Skill  Development & Capacity 

Building Training Programme

Under Skill Development & Capacity Building programme of the State Government, the Department of Information & Public Relations, Government of Sikkim is conducting a short training programme on Journalism, Videography and Photography for educated unemployed youth of Sikkim at Namchi, South Sikkim from March 18th to 20th, 2008.

For Journalism candidates should be graduate and above and for Videography & Photography  they should be Class XII and above.

TRAINING PROGRAMME

The Department of Mines Minerals & Geology is conducting Capacity Building Programme for Educated un-employed youth for the following courses at Sikkim Mining Corporation Complex, Rangpo.

1. Training Course on Engineering Survey:

The course shall be on various methods of Survey, use of Total Stations, Global Positioning System (GPS) and Fundamentals of Geographical Information System (GIS).

Educational Qualification : Class XII Passed (Preference will be given to diploma holders in Engineering and graduate).

Duration of Course : 12 days.

2. Training Course on Natural Resource Management.

The course shall comprise of Scientific Exploitation of natural resources and it’s Management.

Educational Qualification : Class XII Passed (Preference will be given to Graduates).

Duration of Course : 10 days.

Conditions:-

1. Candidates are allowed to apply for  one package training course only a time.

2. TA/DA will be paid to all such selected candidates who are required to stay in Rangpo during the training programme.

3. Training does not guarantee for a job.
