Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Arts from North Bengal University.

Political Background: Initially joined Sikkim Himali Congress Party and after sometime she resigned from the Himali Congress and in the year 1993- Joined Sikkim Democratic Front Party. 1994-contested from Yoksum Constituency as a nominee of SDF Party but failed to be elected. She was cominated as Chairperson of SIDICO. 1999-contested from Yoksum constituency as a nominee of SDF Party. Elected as a member of 6th Legislative Assembly, nominated as executive member of comittee of Presiding Officer and Telecasting. 15th Oct 1999-elected unanimously as a Speaker of Sikkim Legislative Assembly. 2004 -elected as a member of 7th Legislative Assembly and sworn in as a Cabinet Minister incharge of Animal Husbandry Livestock, Fisheries & Veterinary Service, Food & Civil Supplies & Consumer affairs Department.

Social Activities: 1975-1979-Headed Social Organanization "Sikkim Mahila Kalyan Sangh" and took training in Women-Child Development at Imphal.

1977-78: Headed Sikkim Government Employees Association (Class III and IV).

1984: Founder President of Sikkim Government Ex-Employees Association (Pensioners).

Books Published: "TOTOLA KO PHUL" Short story for Radio Broadcast.

Special Interest: Visiting and upgrading Small Scale Industries in village.
